Unit 18: LO1

I will be adding text in post production to explain what is happening

Using a DLSR, There are many different settings that I can change to make the camera look different and like the aperture, where I could make it a lower depth of field to have more of a focus on Andrew using a camera or I could make it a higher depth of field to show both Andrew, the camera and Sheffield with the negative being that it makes the image darker and can draw less attention to Andrew and the camera. With the ISO, making this higher would increase the sensitivity of the image and increase the amount of light in the image. Likewise, making it lower will darken the image and makes the image quality better.

Different Lenses

I can use different lenses to get shots from different ranges like an image up close of something using a macro lens and an image of him across the street by using a zoom lens

Setting up a Sony 4k Camera

When I set up a camera, I can change many things including the depth of field to focus on a specific person/thing with the background being blurred and I could change the light balance to make it a seperate mood with a more warm colour for hotter temperatures and cooler colours for colder environments or meanings.

Another Device

I could use a different device like a drone to get footage from the air for an establishing shot of how Sheffield looks like or a go pro for a smaller camera that is easier to mount into different places and very durable and show what they look like compared to a main camera and Andrew showing how they work.

Setting up filming equipment

I could use many other equipment like a Jib which has a boom mic with a long stick on the middle of a tripod which can change the angle of the camera with it being able to be moved up or down and to get angles that are hard to get by using a handheld camera. I could also use a Dolly which is a wheeled cart on rails that can make smooth movements and a Shoulder Mount which are designed to minimise shaking while being more mobile than a Dolly since it isn't limited to being on tracks.
